In early October, Cheshire Home said “good-bye” to our dear friend, Roger Carden. Roger, a Cheshire Home resident and go-getter, transitioned into his home with his wife in South Carolina.

From Day 1, Roger was eager to rehabilitate and make his way back home. He was committed to Physical and Occupational Therapy, regularly working through intense, challenging sessions. He was open to trying out the latest therapeutic technologies offered, and rarely slowed down on his road to recovery. His hard work paid off, allowing him to do more and more for himself. After his summer wedding, Roger was proud to tell others how he was able to get himself ready the morning of his wedding.

Roger not only worked enthusiastically in therapy, but also enjoyed the social aspect of Cheshire Home, becoming a friend to many. He liked a good-old Cheshire Home party and frequently participated in trips and on-site events. When Cheshire  wasn’t bustling with fun activities, Roger could often be found hanging out with his friends around our Home.

We will definitely miss Roger here at Cheshire Home, but know he’s on to big things! We all wish Roger well as he continues his journey!
