Cheshire Residents Participate in King's Cooking Studio!
Eight Cheshire residents attended the King's Cooking Studio program on March 8th, directed by Chef Theresa Merges, and they learned first-hand the joys of cooking! (and eating your own prepared meals and desserts!) Residents Amparo Colon and Julissa Santiago took the lead in organizing the event, along with Recreation Director Mandy Hecht ,Coordinator Gina Grasso, and Social Services Director Robbi Nahum. Amparo, Julissa and residents Herson Ledezma, Orlando Hernandez, Rell Hamilton, Oscar Solis, Mark Laresn and Anthony Ayala got right to work in the Cooking Studio, and the menu was:
Lamb Meatball with Spicy Sauce
Summer Berry Salsa and Homemade Chips
Peruvian Rice and Beans
Argentina Steak Wrap and a Philly Steak Wrap
Once each resident had prepared, cooked and baked each course, it was time to...dig in! Tasty! The eating was the best part, and when everyone had enjoyed their meal and was heading back to Cheshire Home, each resident was given a laminated folder with all of the recipes they had prepared during their Studio experience.
King's Cooking Studio offers adult, teens and kids classes for all cooking skill levels. Their themes include "Pajama Party", "Super Hero Party", and varieties of celebrations and corporate events. Many thanks to Kings and to Chef Merges and her assistants. All agree that this was a great experience!
