COMPUTER TRAINING

 Introduction to Computers is a training and assessment program providing hands-on computer training and experiences for employment, continuing education or personal enrichment. This course is rehabilitative and designed for individuals ready for vocational pursuits. The primary focus of Introduction to Computers is to assist individuals not enrolled in formal training programs select a viable "next step" towards employment or continuing education. Introduction to Computers is available to all Cheshire residents and other disabled individuals from the community

 

 INTRODUCTION TO COMPUTERS PROGRAM:

WordPerfect 8 for Windows

Internet and World Wide Web

Cheshire Home's computer instructors have extensive experience in computer software packages. The instructor conducts an initial assessment, which includes hands-on demonstration of abilities by the client and the identification of appropriate adaptive equipment. The instructor will review performance with the student on a weekly basis. The final evaluation and interview will include recommendations and/or referral resources.

Cheshire Home's Community Resource Center is open Tuesday through Thursday from 9:30 a.m. - 3 p.m. Instruction is self-paced and individualized. Each course lasts approximately eight weeks, however, instruction continues until course objectives are met.
