The Harry & Jeanette Weinberg Foundation awarded Cheshire Home a $63,000 grant to support the complete renovation of our two residential shower room suites, as well as two fully accessible restrooms. This renovation considerably enhances the quality of life for our residents, and provides them with access to safe, functional, comfortable shower and restroom equipment.

The Weinberg Foundation is one of the nation’s largest private foundations and is dedicated to relieving the burdens of poverty and disability. Foundation grants focus on meeting needs such as shelter, nutrition, health, and socialization, and on enhancing an individual’s ability to meet those needs. Their previous support to Cheshire Home enabled us to refurbish and equip our state-of-the-art physical therapy room.

The Henry H. Kessler Foundation awarded a $33,000 grant to support the vocational training programs of the Cheshire Home Resource Center. Our training programs enable the residents of Cheshire, as well as disabled residents of our community, to enrich their lives, secure employment and higher education, and achieve self-reliance.

The Kessler Foundation is a leading proponent of programs which assist disabled people in entering the workforce. Noting that 1.5 million people in New Jersey have a disability, and that only one-third are employed, the foundation works to overcome barriers such as lack of transportation and access to vocational training. Its long-standing support of Cheshire Home has significantly strengthened our ability to address these challenges.

The F. M. Kirby Foundation awarded Cheshire Home a $25,000 grant funding the purchase and installation of new dishwashing equipment. This refurbishing will enable us to maintain the highest level of sanitary protocols throughout our dietary area.

The F. M. Kirby Foundation is a family foundation with deep roots in our local community, and with a history of long-standing support for Cheshire Home. This support has enabled us to consistently improve the living environment of our residents. Dedicated to encouraging independence and self-determination for all people, the foundation supports education, health and medicine, the arts and humanities, civic and public affairs, and religious, welfare and youth organizations.
